The crews have received training to assist passengers with reduced mobility; on board all ships there is a sailor designated to assist passengers who cannot walk independently.
In order for us to provide adequate assistance to PRMs, we ask you to request specific information about the on-board equipment dedicated to our ticket offices, call center or crew before boarding, as well as to present yourself for boarding with adequate advance notice, reporting the need for specific assistance.
In this regard, we remind you that, pursuant to European regulation EC 1177/2010:
Carriers and terminal operators, in their respective areas of competence, provide persons with disabilities or persons with reduced mobility with the assistance referred to in Article 10, provided that:
the carrier or terminal operator is informed, by any available means, including electronically or by SMS, of the person's need for assistance at least forty-eight hours before the assistance becomes necessary, unless the passenger and the carrier or terminal operator agree on a shorter period;
the person with a disability or the person with reduced mobility presents himself personally at the port or at the agreed place as indicated in Article 12, paragraph 3:
at a time established in writing by the carrier provided that it does not precede the published boarding time by more than sixty minutes, or
where no boarding time has been established, at least sixty minutes before the published departure time, unless the passenger and the carrier or terminal operator agree on a shorter period.
The equipment for people with reduced mobility of each Medmar ship can be consulted in the FLEET section
